Beware of fake or misleading domain name renewal invoices - Many of our customers have been receiving invoices and renewal notices from companies claiming to be in control of their respective domain names, this is untrue and is nothing more than a scam to try and relieve you of your money.

If you are ever in doubt about any suspect invoices or renewal notices that you receive with regards to your domain name(s) please feel free to forward them to us, we will then inform you as to it's authenticity.

Customers of Netcom Design Ltd should never pay anyone for anyone in connection with domain name(s), this is all taken care of by ourselves and is included in our annual hosting fees.

Companies in the UK must include certain regulatory information on their websites and in their email footers before 1st January 2007 or they will breach the Companies Act and risk a fine.

Every company should list its company registration number, place of registration and registered office address on its website as a result of an update to the legislation of 1985. The information, which must be in legible characters, should also appear on order forms and in emails. Such information is already required on 'business letters' but the duty is being extended to websites, order forms and electronic documents.

With e-retailing reaching record levels, Netcom Design say e-commerce is an essential tool for any service or product provider. Online sales for Christmas 2006 reached upwards of £7bn, by e-retail body IMRG and the message from Netcom is that companies who don’t have the facility to sell their products or services via their website, risk being left behind.

Online sales are growing faster than retail, according to research in the first half of 2006 carried out by the Interactive Media in Retail Group. During the Christmas season, John Lewis reported a 60% rise in online sales, Tesco saw an increase of 30%, whilst a survey of small to medium retailers reported an average 96% increase in online turnover for November and December 2006 compared with the same period a year ago.

In 2006 as a whole, the IMRG reported that online sales were up by 40% from last year and stated that online shopping now represented 10% of total UK retail salesa 20 fold increase from 2000.

We believe, it’s time for most businesses to make their next move online. There are real opportunities out there for any company to sell their products or services online, and not just the high street retailers, as the Internet opens up prospects to a whole host of niche markets.
